DEVELOPMENT OF FOUNDRY TECHNOLOGY CAPABILITY AND ROTARY FURNACE FOR PRODUCTION OF SPARE PARTS

The rotary furnace designed, developed and manufactured at EMDI is capable of producing gray cast iron. Metallographic structure of casting from EMDI’s furnace is comparable to that of casting from other good furnaces and conforms to all international standards. Sizes of furnace include I ton, t00kg, 200kg, 100kg and 10kg.

The EMDI designed rotary furnace has been used to produce pump body of deep well pump (Mark iv type), break drum of Peugeot 504, brake drum for creasing and cutting machine and many other spare parts requiring good iron casting, gray or white.

Currently, EMDI is sponsored by Education Tax Fund (ETF) to build 14 numbers of 100kg rotary furnace for mini-foundries for tertiary institutions.
