This is a new centre of the agency with the mandate to develop and maintain power and electrical equipment.

The centre when fully operational will be a centre of excellence in the design, production and repair of power equipments, electrical machines, motors and switching devices, making Nigeria self sufficient in power distribution and transmission for global competitiveness.

The centre will also develop and proliferate technologies for the manufacture of spares and components of electrical machines; maintain operational equipments required by industries that make use of electrical machines, motors and switching devices.

The center will render her service to the numerous industries and small – scale business outfits that use electric motors in one way or the other to power their machines.

Transformers, electric machines and electric apparatus fall basically under the equipments/machines that can be repaired or overhauled by the center. (e.g. motors, controls, generators, transformers, meters, switchgears etc ).
