PROACTIVE ADVISORY ROLE IN ENGINEERING INFRASTRUCTURAL DEVELOPMENT

NASENI plans to offer high quality Advisory Service to Governments (Federal, State and Local) and major Parastatals (eg NNPC, EPA) in the areas of the appraisal, planning, execution and monitoring of major Infrastructural projects. For instance, materials specifications and standard engineering practice in major refurbishments at Egbin PHCN Thermal Station, or TAM of NNPC are projects where NASENI could have coordinated the activities of Nigerians in, at least, monitoring to ensure that Nigeria was not shortchanged. These activities can be well undertaken by utilizing the existing highly qualified engineering but idle personnel within the country. Additionally, NASENI will organize, on a national scale, the re-education and professional development programmes for engineering in Industry. Increasing R&D collaboration between Industry and our Development Institutes is also an area calling for our attention.

There are over 40million patents available over the internet. Most of these are already in the public domain and free. One of the functions of NASENI is the assessing and re-packaging of information pertinent to manufacturing and process technologies as a service to SMEs. Such a methodology engenders innovation, quickens turn-around time from ideas to the market place thus allowing our goods to be globally competitive.
